Dribble for the Planet: BBA Indonesia and COCO Social Fund Slam Dunk for Earth Day

Share

What happens when you combine the energy of youth basketball with the mission to protect our island? You get Dribble for the Planet, an incredible day of teamwork, passion, and purpose at Yeh Gangga Beach, Tabanan.

As part of our ongoing Earth Day celebrations, the COCO Social Fund teamed up with BBA Indonesia to prove that being a great athlete also means being a great leader for the environment.

Teamwork Beyond the Court

The day was about more than just drills and skills. Players, coaches, and families swapped the basketball court for the shoreline, showing that the same teamwork used to win games can be used to protect our planet.

In just one hour of collective action, the energy was electric. From the youngest dribblers to the seasoned coaches, everyone played their part in cleaning up the beautiful coast of Desa Adat Yeh Gangga.

The Scoreboard: 306kg of Impact

At Coco Social Fund, we love to track the “score” of our environmental actions. Today’s results were a massive win for nature:

Total Waste Collected: 306 kg

  • Organic Waste: 219 kg (Sent directly to the village to be processed and composted).
  • Inorganic Waste: 87 kg (Sorted for responsible recycling).

By ensuring that the organic waste stays within the village for processing, we are supporting a circular system that benefits the local ecosystem directly.

Playing for the Future

We are incredibly proud of these young athletes. Watching them grow, not just in their shooting percentage, but in their sense of responsibility toward Bali—is why we do what we do. They aren’t just the basketball stars of tomorrow; they are the environmental leaders of today.

This isn’t just a one-time event. Our goal is to turn this energy into a routine, ensuring that “playing for the planet” becomes a permanent part of our community’s DNA.

Together, we play. Together, we protect.
