True public service isn’t measured by how much is given, but by how far we are willing to go to ensure it reaches those who need it most.
On March 8, 2026, the Coco Social Fund together with DPRD Tabanan Regency took a meaningful step forward in social welfare. Instead of a centralized distribution at a public office or field, the team chose a quieter, more personal path: a door-to-door approach to social assistance.
Why “Door-to-Door” Matters
Most social assistance programs are held at a single central location. However, in reality, not everyone has the physical ability or the means to get there. Between 6 PM and 8 PM WITA, the team navigated small residential alleys to reach those who are often left behind:
- Elderly Citizens: Many seniors living alone no longer have the physical strength to travel long distances or stand in long queues.
- People with Disabilities: For those with limited mobility, simply leaving the house can be a massive challenge that requires constant assistance.
- Families in Need: Households struggling with economic hardship often have domestic responsibilities that prevent them from attending centralized events.

If we simply wait for people to come to us, the help might never arrive. This is why the team moved closer by knocking on doors and greeting citizens directly.
More Than Just a Package
Handing over a social assistance package on a doorstep is about more than just food or funds; it’s about dignity and real care. When the government comes to the people, it creates a moment of genuine connection.
This approach ensures that:
- Assistance is received by the right people.
- Recipients are treated with respect, away from the heat and stress of crowds.
- A real presence is felt, proving that the community’s welfare is a top priority.
This initiative serves as a powerful reminder: the best service isn’t about waiting for a request; it’s about proactively meeting a need. A simple knock on a door can have a massive impact, showing that no one is forgotten.
