Pioneering Green Tourism: Transforming Hospitality Waste Systems with BUMDes Uluwatu

Share

A sustainable future in tourism isn’t built overnightβ€”it is shaped by the consistent, conscious choices we make every single day.

We are incredibly proud to have partnered with BUMDes Uluwatu to host an interactive Waste Management Training session. This initiative marks a crucial step forward in establishing a highly structured, accountable waste management system specifically tailored for the hospitality sector.

Closing the Loop: The Three-Stream System

To move away from traditional waste disposal and embrace a true circular economy, we are implementing a strict waste-separation system across our properties. Moving forward, all waste will be meticulously sorted into three primary streams:

  • Organic: Diverting food and green waste away from landfills to be repurposed into nutrient-rich compost.
  • Inorganic: Capturing high-value recyclables like plastics, glass, and metals to keep them in the production loop.
  • Residue: Responsibly isolating non-recyclable materials to minimize our environmental footprint.

Pioneering Sustainable Tourism

We have always believed that grand environmental changes begin with small, disciplined habits. By proving that this system can seamlessly integrate into premium hospitality management, our ultimate goal is to inspire other villas and resorts across Bali to follow suit.

Tourism shouldn’t come at the cost of the destination. Together with our local communities and partners, we are ensuring that the island’s hospitality industry grows in perfect harmony with the breathtaking environment that surrounds it. 🌱
