COCO Kids Club Community Iftar: Creativity, Connection, and Upcycling at LKSA Pancasila

Share

Ramadan is a time for togetherness, and yesterday, the COCO Kids Club, alongside the COCO Development Group and COCO Social Fund brought that spirit to life. We headed to LKSA Pancasila in Denpasar for an afternoon dedicated to joy, giving back, and some very clever crafting.

Young Eco-Warriors: The Pencil Case Project

The highlight of the afternoon was our Arts & Crafts session. We believe in teaching sustainability early, so we challenged the kids to tackle the plastic waste problem head-on with a creative twist.

Using recycled plastic bottles, the children learned how to upcycle “trash” into treasure. The result? Dozens of handcrafted, personalized pencil cases! It was a hands-on lesson in how we can all help solve the plastic problem by finding new, beautiful uses for everyday waste.

Games, Smiles, and Shared Moments

After the crafting was done, the energy shifted to pure play. The COCO Development Group members joined the kids for a series of games that filled the room with laughter. Seeing the kids so proud of their new creations while bonding with our team was a reminder of why the COCO Kids Club exists—to build bridges through shared experiences.

Breaking the Fast as One Family

As evening approached, the community came together for the Iftar rituals:

  • The Break of Fast: We started with light refreshments to refuel after a long day.
  • Maghrib Prayer: A peaceful moment of reflection and prayer shared by everyone.
  • Community Dinner: We capped off the night with a big dinner, where the kids, staff, and our team sat side-by-side to enjoy a meal as one big family.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Everyone left with full hearts (and full stomachs!). The kids didn’t just walk away with a new pencil case; they took home the knowledge that they can be part of the solution to plastic waste.

Thank you to LKSA Pancasila and SPMAA for having the COCO Kids Club over. We can’t wait for our next adventure together!
