What happens when high-tech sustainability meets the raw creativity of a child? On Saturday, February 28, 2026, the Tegal Temu Space in Gianyar became a vibrant classroom for exactly that. As part of our latest Coco Kids Club session, the Coco Social Fund teamed up with Get Plastic Indonesia for a special collaboration titled “NGAYAH UNTUK RUMAH” (Service for our Home).

The goal was simple: to move beyond just talking about the plastic crisis and start showing the next generation that “waste” is only waste if we lack the imagination to use it.
Turning the “End” into a New Beginning
The heart of this collaboration was the concept of “Residu Jadi Karya” (From Residue to Art). We wanted to demonstrate that responsible waste management is a circular journey, not a dead end.

The highlight of the event featured the pyrolysis machine from Get The Shop by Get Plastic. This innovative technology turns plastic waste into fuel, but it also leaves behind a unique byproduct: black carbon residue. Usually, this residue is the end of the line, but for the Coco Kids Club, it was just the beginning.
A Hands-On Lesson in the Circular Economy
We turned the Tegal Temu Space into a studio where children were invited to touch, feel, and create. Using the black carbon residue as a medium, the kids used their imagination to turn “trash” into textures and colors on canvas.

Through this activity, they learned three vital lessons:
- Value in Everything: That even a byproduct of industrial recycling has artistic value.
- Circular Thinking: That our “Home” (Earth) thrives when we find ways to reuse every single piece of what we produce.
- Creative Responsibility: That protecting Bali’s environment can be an exciting, joyful process.
A Community Effort for Our Shared Home
“Ngayah Untuk Rumah” wasn’t just about art; it was a full sensory experience of community service. The space was filled with energy from:
- Interactive Booths: Learning from partners like Umah Pupa, REMADE, Ecolutions Indonesia, and Kacak Kicak Puppet Theater, Raw Studio Bali & Shoutout Studio.
- Vibrant Performances: The day was soundtracked by Ipank Hore Hore, Komunitas Musik Sibangkaja, Kala Party, and Ras Rawon.
- Collaborative Spirit: A massive thank you to our fellow “guardians” like Ahlimantra, Seka Rare, and Telagaswara for helping make this vision a reality.

Building a Greener Future, One Saturday at a Time
At Coco Social Fund, we believe that the most effective way to protect our environment is to foster a sense of “Ngayah” (devotional service) in our children. By showing them that residue can become art, we are raising a generation of problem-solvers who see possibilities where others see waste.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Tegal Temu Space. Together, we are building a future that is as clean as it is creative.
