Turning Leaves into Labs: COCO Greeneration #3 Inspires Young Changemakers in Bali

Share

To most people, fallen leaves are just litter waiting to be swept away.

But at COCO Development, we see them differently. When managed correctly, organic waste like dry leaves transforms from a disposal headache into a valuable resource that can heal our environment.

To bring this philosophy to life, we recently launched the COCO Greeneration #3 program in collaboration with Sekolah Berjasa at SMPN 2 Kerambitan. Instead of just talking about sustainability, we got our hands dirty. We brought students right into the action—teaching them the essentials of waste separation, the science behind composting, and even building a dedicated school compost bin together. This new setup will serve as a permanent, living laboratory for sustainable learning right on their campus.

Learning by Doing: Inspiring the Next Generation

We have always believed that environmental education shouldn’t be confined to textbooks and classrooms. True impact happens when the younger generation gets a real, tangible experience. By rolling up their sleeves, these students are learning to spot the hidden potential in the nature surrounding them.

A massive thank you to everyone who supported and participated in making this initiative a success. We are incredibly proud of these students, and we hope this small step marks the beginning of a long-term culture of mindful waste management in the community.
