The path to a sustainable future begins in the classroom but it truly comes to life when students step out into the field to see innovation in action.

Recently, the Cepaka Learning Center opened its doors for a very special visitation from the bright young minds of SDN Cepaka. The educational field trip was designed to spark curiosity, foster environmental awareness, and show local students how their village is becoming a true hub for the circular economy.

Meeting the Magic Machine: Turning Trash into Resource

The highlight of the day for the students was getting a firsthand look at the center’s cutting-edge pyrolysis machine. For many of the children, plastic waste is simply something that gets thrown away or burned. The team at the learning center changed that perspective completely.

The students gathered around to learn how this specialized technology operates, heating up hard-to-recycle plastic waste in the absence of oxygen to transform it into valuable alternative fuel. Seeing a piece of discarded plastic get reimagined as a useful resource was a mind-blowing moment for the kids, perfectly illustrating the concept of a closed-loop system where nothing goes to waste.

The Three Pillars of a Green Village

At Coco Social Fund, our support for the Cepaka Learning Center is built on a comprehensive sustainability vision that balances environmental, social, and economic pillars. This school visitation perfectly captured all three:
