As we prepare to break ground on Aura Wellness Resort in the heart of Lovina, we recently gathered for a series of sacred ceremonies. Guided by Pak Gede Dolar and our local Pemangku, these rituals ensure that this future sanctuary for health and healing begins its journey in perfect harmony with the “Niskala” (unseen) world.
Honoring the Land and Water
The journey began with the Maturan Muninge ceremony at the Subak. Before Aura Wellness Resort can become a place of healing for people, we must first honor the life-giving water and soil of Lovina. By “informing” the spirits of the land of our intentions, we set a path for a project that flows with nature, not against it.
Ngeruak: Opening the Space for Healing
To prepare for the physical construction, specifically the stone excavation for the senderan (retaining wall) next to the temple—we performed the Ngeruak ceremony.
Whether we are working on the higher ground or right beside the sacred temple walls, Ngeruak is our way of respectfully “opening” the earth. It is a humble request for safety, strength, and positive energy as we transform this site into a sanctuary.
The Cave Maturan: A Moment of Deep Connection
Perhaps the most powerful moment was the Maturan ceremony held at the Goa (cave). In Bali, caves are often seen as profound points of natural energy. By offering prayers here, we are anchoring Aura Wellness Resort to the ancient, quiet strength of Lovina’s landscape.
A Vision Rooted in “Taksu”
Aura Wellness isn’t just going to be a building; it’s going to be a space with Taksu, a soulful energy that invites peace. By following these traditions, we are ensuring that every guest who eventually walks through our doors will feel the blessings and the balance we are cultivating today.
